MIC Cup 2026

The MICFootball (Mediterranean International Cup) is one of the world's most prestigious youth football tournaments, attracting elite academies from across the globe. Former participants include Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Lamine Yamal, Rodri, Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford, Pedri, Cesc Fàbregas and Gerard Piqué, highlighting the exceptional standard of competition.

In 2026, Mid Somerset RTC proudly represented England as the only non-professional English academy club in the tournament, facing La Liga giants Real Betis and Atlético Madrid, alongside teams from the USA, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Competing at the MIC provides our players with an unforgettable opportunity to test themselves against world-class opposition and experience international football at its very best.

Eindhoven Cup 2026

In 2026, Mid Somerset RTC travelled to the Netherlands for the Eindhoven Cup and didn't just win it once. Four separate age groups returned as champions: U8s, U9s, U10s, and U11s all lifted the trophy on the same trip.

Four trophies from one tournament is the kind of result that speaks for itself. It's evidence of a club that produces winning players at every level, not just in one age group.

Kempense Meren Cup 2026

Our U15s travelled to Belgium for the prestigious Kempense Meren Cup, one of Europe's top youth football tournaments, and came home as champions. Going up against clubs from across the continent, they won the whole thing.

Competing internationally builds more than skill. Our players returned from Belgium with medals, memories, and a belief in themselves that no training session alone can build.

Coach Successes

Coach Development

At Mid Somerset RTC, we are committed to developing both players and coaches. Our coaches regularly attend elite coaching visits and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) experiences at some of the world's biggest clubs, including Juventus, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

These experiences provide invaluable insight into world-class coaching methodology and player development, ensuring our players benefit from the latest ideas and best practices. Paul leads the JPL All Stars programmes for both London and the South West. With nearly 10 years of working closely with Real Madrid, he is the person who makes it happen when any JPL group in the UK wants to visit.

Raffi Budd

Canada Men's U16 National Team International

Raffi Budd

Raffi joined Mid Somerset as an U11 and spent two seasons in the JPL before progressing to Bristol Rovers. Since then he has gone on to represent Canada at international youth level, captaining the Canada Men's U16 National Team in CONCACAF competitions and World Cup qualifiers. Our first ever youth international, and one we are enormously proud of.

Isaac Neale

Bristol City FC Academy

Isaac Neale

Isaac joined us as a quiet 7 year old back in 2019. Over six years he developed into one of the most technically gifted players we've had at the club. He was selected for the South West All-Stars team before earning his place at Bristol City FC Academy, where he continues to push himself every day.

Joe Brain

Bristol City FC Academy 2-Year Contract

Joe Brain

Joe joined Mid Somerset RTC at U8 and worked his way through every single age group, developing season after season. His dedication and consistent performances earned him a 2-year academy contract with Bristol City FC, a testament to the years of hard work he put in at every training session.

AFC Bournemouth Academy

Henry Hornby

Henry's journey through the Mid Somerset RTC pathway led him all the way to AFC Bournemouth Academy, a Premier League academy at the top of the professional game. A shining example of what talent combined with the right environment can achieve.

Jacob Hammonds

Bristol Rovers Academy Scholar

Jacob Hammonds

A central midfielder with real quality, Jacob spent 3 years developing at Mid Somerset RTC before signing a 2-year scholarship with Bristol Rovers FC. His technical ability, vision, and work rate made him stand out from an early age, and Bristol Rovers moved quickly to secure him.

The Pathway

If your child has the ability and the work ethic, this programme gives them every opportunity to reach the professional game.

The Best Is Still to Come

Every trophy, every tournament, every milestone builds towards something bigger. We're proud of what we've achieved, but we're even more excited about what comes next.

Our vision is to become the number one Football Academy in Somerset and the South West of England. We're looking for the players who want to be part of that journey.
